How to Count Cards in Blackjack
Blackjack is a special game which needs special skills and techniques if you want to conquer the game. One of the special techniques is card counting. Here are some tips on how to count cards in Blackjack.
First of all, you will have to know the basic principle in card counting. Aces and tens are cards which give high advantage to players. This is due to the fact that these cards do provide a higher likelihood of getting a total of 20 (10 + 10). Thus, dealer will have to get 21 to win over you. On the other hand, small cards such as 3s, 4s, 5s and 6s are good for dealer. This is because if dealer gets a value ranging from 12 to 16, he / she is able to hit stiff hands. However, if the dealer gets a ten-value card and causes burst, the dealer will lose in the game. This is also another reason why dealer prefers small cards.
Card counting method does not require an intelligent player with extra capabilities to memorize every single card that is eliminated by other player. All you have to do is to assign points to each card such as +1, 0 or -1. Big cards will be given negative point and small cards will be given positive point. For example, when card with less than six-value is eliminated by a player, it will increase your chances of getting big cards from the deck. This is why a six-value card is given a positive point. Therefore, it will be easier for you to predict the value of cards left by using the point system. Cards ranging from 7 to 9 can be assigned zero value as they do not bring much impact on the game itself.
You need to practice a lot if you want to use this technique. However, you have to be careful and do not reveal your method at casinos as this is considered cheating for them.
